Meet the Team
Emma graduated with a degree in Tourism Management and embarked on a career in events, initially within venue finding agencies, before moving into hotels. She worked for Thistle Hotels and Ramada Jarvis with roles in Meetings and Events and Revenue Management, before leaving to lecture part time in Travel and Tourism.
When her husband Gavin passed away in late 2009, Emma took over The Venue Team as Director. Emma continues to run the business with the same values and drive for service that have been at the heart of the company from its creation.
Emma joins The Venue Team with ten years previous experience in the industry. Starting her career at a venue finding agency, Emma then travelled the world, spending a large amount of her time working in hotels in Europe. The last few years have involved Emma working on several corporate accounts, managing their accommodation requirements in the UK and abroad.
Emma has a successful history of building and maintaining client relationships, and with her background in venue finding for events as well as managing accommodation, she adds another dynamic to the team as our Corporate Account Manager.
Chris has over ten years’ experience putting events of all sizes together, largely through his own team building company Kaboura Events, who have worked closely with The Venue Team for many years.
With experience in events and previous venue finding, Chris has been invaluable since he came on board in 2010. Today, he continues to support the company and its vision to deliver a high quality service to our customers.

The Venue Team was founded in 2003 by friends Gavin Tett and Chris Orrell. Sadly, Gavin passed away in 2009, but his passion for excellent customer service and his love and enthusiasm for the industry continues to inspire us today.
Chris and Gavin’s relentless energy and dedication made the company what it is. Today we continue in their vision for an excellent service from a friendly team who really care about every enquiry.
Chris continues to be involved in helping and advising us in growing the business today.
