Hallmark Hotel The Queen was built in the 1850’s in homage to Queen Victoria as the country’s first grand railway hotel. With no other blueprints to base the building’s design on, the architecture was unique, and many say it was the first skyscraper of the time.
Despite it’s 150 year fascinating history, the hotel doesn’t scrimp on modern comforts and facilities.
Located opposite Chester train station, this 218 bedroom hotel has 87 Royal-themed rooms added in a recent multi-million pound revamp, with portraits of monarchs and bright vibrant colours. Classic rooms offer a clean, fresh feel with hints of burgundy or blue whilst the hotel’s suites include four posters, sumptuous décor and comfortable living rooms.
For corporate events Hallmark Hotel The Queen has 11 function rooms, all combining Victorian character with contemporary design. The largest suite is the Colonnades Ballroom with private bar, integrated light & sound systems and direct access for loading, it can accommodate up to 400 guests for a conference or 350 for banqueting.
Adjacent to the Colonnades Ballroom is the Palazzo Conservatory, overlooking the Baltic Exchange Gardens it’s ideal for catering breaks or exhibitions or perfect for a standalone event for up to 150 guests.
Further features at the hotel include a 2AA Rosette restaurant, free WiFi, onsite car parking and beauty treatments.
