The Celtic Manor Resort has launched its busiest ever festive season with improvements to its popular Christmas Kingdom attraction and new additions to its calendar of Festive Party Nights.
Christmas Kingdom is back for a sixth year in 2016 and for the first time the ice skating rink is covered by a clear roof, keeping away the rain but allowing skaters to see the sky and the stars by night.
More than 30,000 people will visit the Christmas Kingdom by the time it closes on 2nd January with the Santa’s Grotto enchanting children with a magical experience including decorating gingerbread men, writing letters to the North Pole and meeting the reindeer as well as the main man himself.
On the big day, Celtic Manor will serve lunch to more than 1,500 guests across all eight of its restaurants and the Winter Wonderland in the Caernarfon Ballroom. Here are a few more facts and figures that give an indication of the Resort’s bumper Christmas season:
- 7,000 Christmas puddings made in one giant batch, with ingredients including 125 pints of Guinness, 30 bottles of rum and 200kg of mixed fruit
- 22,000 mince pies consumed
- 3,500 bottles of bubbly
- 19,602 Christmas Crackers
- 85 outdoor Christmas trees installed
- 30 indoor Christmas trees in the Caernarfon Suite alone on Christmas Day
